INFORMATION & GUIDELINES FOR UK HOSPITALITY STAFF Hotels & Type of Properties we serve :
We Serve 3,4,5 Star Hotels, Stand Alone & Chain Restaurants.
Our Clients include Chains/Hotels/Restaurants like:
Hilton Hotels, British Trust Hotels, Best Western Hotels , The De Vere Group of Hotels, Marston Hotels, Las Iguanas , Wagamama, Yo Sushi Compass, Spirit Group, Marriot group, Holiday Inn etc. Other clients we cater to are SSP, Benares, Cinnamon Club, McDonalds Hotels and many more.
Location
All hotels and restaurants are located in and around London as well all over the United Kingdom.
Salary / Wages:
Salaries for most junior positions are GBP 5.73 per Hour (Waiters, Captains, Commis, F/O Assistants & Supervisors, Room Attendants, Kitchen Helpers, House-keeping Supervisors etc). Salaries may be slightly higher where there is no accommodation provided.
Average Standard Salaries for Chefs:
Chef De Partie - £16 K -£18 K
Sous Chef - £18 K to £20 K
Head Chef - £20K - £30K
Restaurant Manager - £ 20k - £24k
Assistant Restaurant Manager - £ 18k- £20k
Head Receptionist - £18k - £20k
Reception Manager - £22k - £24k
Taxes
All candidates are required to pay Income Tax and National Health (National Insurance) contributions, which are payable on your gross wages. The National Insurance is pegged at 5% (2.5% for Gratuity & 2.5% for Health Care)
The Income tax is payable as per the slabs mentioned below (per year):
Up to £ 4,615 - (No tax)
£ 4,616 to £ 6,535 - 10 %
£ 6,536 to £ 34,515 - 22 %
Professional Fees
Total Professional Fees paid to Blends Travel is for the following :
1)Consultancy
2) Work Permit
3) Visa Guidance
Work Hours
Working hours vary from company to company and are normally between 40/48 hours & 5 days, Per Week, unless otherwise stated. The work hours in restaurants are generally longer.
Supplementary work
It is possible to take up additional work of a similar nature with a different employer outside of their normal working hours. However, supplementary work should not exceed 20 hrs per week. Always, first check up with your current employer for additional work & ensure that it does not interfere with your primary employer's interests.
Eligibility
All the candidates must satisfy one of the following criterias to be eligible for a Work Permit.
1) Minimum 3 year Experience at a supervisory level position. Please refer eligibility under Tier2
What is the pay and working hours?
Contracts vary from property to property but generally remuneration is £5,73ph (including gratuity). Your average working week will be around 35 - 45 hours depending on the property; however any additional hours over 40 Hours will be compensated at the applicable overtime rates or day off.
Duty Meals and Accommodation
Most Hotels would provide duty meals and Single accommodation; please clarify this with a Vira International Consultant before they put you up for an interview. In a lot of instances the Hotels / Restaurants do not have accommodation available, in these cases the wages offered may be marginally higher.
Validity of Work Permits & Contracts for Senior / Junior Level candidates:
Validity of work permits for all Hospitality Staff is 3 years only. Your contract is valid until the validity of your visa.
Refund Policy:
In case of Visa Rejection GBP 300 ( INR 25000) will be deducted and rest of the amount will be refunded to you. This provided you strictly adhere to the guidance provided, present all the necessary documents and have verifiable references. If in case you provide any false information or your references cannot be verified and visa is denied an additional work permit processing fee of 500 pounds will be levied.
If your visa has been denied under any category earlier for U.K., kindly keep our Consultants informed about the same. In such an instance if the visa gets rejected due to failure of notification an additional Work Permit processing fee of 500 pounds would be levied.
Please note that at very stage a Blends Travel needs to be informed about any changes in your work status. Any change of job / position or resignations must be informed immediately to the consultant. If you fail to do the same the consequences will have to be borne by you, for which Blends Travel will not be held responsible.

Registration: Contact our Hospitality consultants
Registration does not guarantee you a Job, we only ask candidates to register with us if we feel we will have a suitable post for them soon or we find that our clients would be interested in hiring them. A DD of Rs. 10,000/- + 10.2% service Tax is required towards registration, which is fully refundable at any time until your are put up for an interview or are selected by a client, registration fee is not refundable after a Job offer is Received.
Submitting Forms & Formats:
After your initial screening and registration, certain forms need to be filled; C.V. Format, reference letters on specified formats and sign the Blends Travel Official Contract Letter. These documents are very important and must be submitted in a time to avoid delays in processing. Please remember to mention clear and correct information on your resume, as it is your responsibility to make sure the information is right. For Details or more information contact Blends Travel.

Please arrange to provide reference letters as requested at the earliest, please don't provide any false or incorrect information including dates of employment & the designation held.
Setting Up your Interview:
Once we have all the documents in our formats and your registration fee, your resume will be forwarded to a client Hotel. We will always take your consent and give you any information that you may need such as name of the Hotel, rooms, facilities, Salary, Location and any other information you may need. Once you have given your consent we will forward your resume to the client who may or may not conduct a telephonic Interview.
Job Offer:
You will receive a Job Offer after your selection, which must be counter signed and returned to us. You will be required to make an additional deposit (follow your consultants instructions). You are normally required to travel to the UK within 21 Days of receipt of your Job Offer Letter.
Work Permits:
You will receive your certificate of sponsorship within 4 weeks of signing the offer letter, please coordinate with our Consultant closely for next steps to VFS & to the Embassy if required. The time taken for a Sponsorship certificate is totally dependent on the UK Home office and any delay is not under our control.
Interview at the Embassy:
If you are called for an Interview at the Embassy please contact Blends Travel prior to the Interview; this is a must. If you are applying at an Embassy other than Mumbai please contact via telephone.
Visa Stamped:
Once your visa is stamped please contact us for travel arrangements and instructions.
Additional Notes
All candidates interested in registration must counter sign these instruction sheets with full signature and date on each page, if you are below 25 you will need to get it counter signed by a parent or guardian.
Only candidates who are currently employed need to apply for registration and Jobs in the UK, candidates working on cruise liners and who are on leave can also apply.
All candidates must be working during the time their applications are being processed.
Candidates will be required to submit proof of current employment such as Salary Slips, bank statements and appointment letters.
If you change your current Job during the period you are registered with us please inform us of the change and send an updated resume to us immediately.
Sr. Position Candidates must have minimum 3 years experience as Asst. Managers / CDP level or above & age 25-40 years.
Jr. Positions / Non supervisors Level - Age below 27 years.
Service tax Rs.1236/- must be paid prior to departure
